The Lanai was one of several Big Island restaurants owned by Richard Furtado. The first of his restaurants was The Ponds, which opened in Hilo in 1945. Furtado later opened The Lanai, as well as several other restaurants and concession stands on the island. This dinner menu from the Lanai dates from 1955.
